Books and reading – Libraries Week (5-9th October 2020)

It’s Libraries Week (5-9th October) and the theme this year is “Books and reading”

As the cooler and darker evenings draw in, you may be turning your attention to indoor activities such as reading which can be beneficial to personal wellbeing.

Did you know that our partners at the public libraries offer access to e-books, e-magazines, audiobooks and comics to suit a wide range of interests?   There are also e-newspapers available in community languages.

Many of our service users now have access to electronic devices or phones to enable them to access these resources. You may also want to look into them for your own use and to share with friends and family.

As part of Libraries Week, join author Matt Haig on Thursday 8th October as he talks about his new book “The Midnight Library” which has the theme of hope:

In addition to the resources that our partners at the public library service provide, our own library service at BSMHFT has a selection of fiction titles for loan, most with a mental health theme but we also have some Mood Boosting books and Quick Reads as recommended by the Reading Agency.
